This is the system that represents the CORE BELIEFS AND VALUES of Finish First Sports Performance and its Coaches and Trainers

 Training, Results, Intelligence, Unselfishness, Mental Fortitude, Persistence, Honor

TRAINING: 

We believe that training programs should be specialized, advanced, cutting edge, effective, and backed by (over a century) of solid scientific research. Training should be done in an environment conducive to producing results with no distractions and surrounded by other dedicated individuals working towards attaining their goals. An ideal environment can be created anywhere, preferably in a facility that promotes hard work, with no distractions, gimmicky equipment, or attention on “grabbing attention” primarily to sell rather than providing only the tools, coaching, and equipment needed to produce extraordinary results.

Customized training programs should be used for each individual and should progress each individual according to their unique adaptation rate to training. We believe programs are most effective when they use a variety of training methods and evidence based training regimes designed specifically to address the unique demands and needs of each individual.

Additionally, coaches need to pay close attention to each individual during their training so they never feel like they are neglected as part of a larger group.

RESULTS: 

We believe we can produce unmatched results for all of our athletes, fitness customers, and pageant contestants, using our unique specialized training programs. Training programs that address both mental and physical preparation produce the best results or give the athlete or client the greatest chance of success (goal achievement). We believe that results are created through hard work, dedication of the coach and client towards a common purpose or goal, proper programming, mental preparation, disciplined habits, and an unbreakable desire or will to achieve. Our team has a proven track record of training sports teams, athletes, and contestants to be the best mentally and physically prepared for every competition and competitive season. We will be the most prepared for competition.

 INTELLIGENCE: 

We believe training programs should be scientifically crafted by performance coaches with undergraduate and graduate degrees in exercise and performance sciences, including movement science and injury prevention specializations, along with internationally recognized and industry leading certifications and accreditation. A coach should be knowledgeable about a variety of training methodologies that have been used with different sports throughout the documented history of scientific basis of sports, fitness, and exercise. A qualified performance coach should read daily for self improvement, and to stay abreast of the research (both current and historical) in the performance sciences field(s), including, but not limited to sports psychology, kinesiology and exercise science, physical therapy and movement science, sports nutrition, sports medicine and general medicine, leadership, teamwork, coaching science and philosophy. We also believe that a qualified coach should encourage clients to learn something every day, whether for personal or professional growth, or for formal education purposes. A qualified performance coach should be a living example and role model for other coaches, athletes, fitness clients and pageant contestants.

 UNSELFISHNESS: 

We believe in the value of being unselfish and putting our athlete’s and clients’ needs first. Performance coaches should enter the profession of strength and conditioning/performance enhancement not to boost their ego or promote their name by using their athletes or clientele, but rather to help promote and boost the confidence of everyone they coach. A selfish coach self promotes and “name drops” in every training conversation, with unethical intentions, whereas a qualified, unselfish coach will not need to self promote or name drop because his or her results speak loudly and vouch for the kind of coach s/he is—with athletes and clients spreading the word.

We teach players the value of helping others and becoming a better team player. Every athlete needs to give to grow and helping others is on the path to becoming a better person, and for fulfilling a purpose larger than imagined.

 MENTAL FORTITUDE: 

We believe that in order to succeed at anything, one must be mentally strong and resilient, with the mental composition to adapt to any circumstances and remain steadfast despite what obstacles may lie in the path towards goal attainment. While we know that not every athlete or client can commit to becoming a Finish First athlete or client, we know that the few that do commit have strong pride in the mental strength and mental resilience they develop to push through workouts towards achieving their goals.

We believe in training to remain calm under pressure, motivated against all odds, focused during chaos, and remaining resilient and steadfast and on task with a strong resolve towards achieving your goal(s). We believe it is this mental strength that helps prepare our athletes to better endure any situation that may arise at their training camps, tournaments, events, or situations in life.

PERSISTENCE: 

We believe that it takes consistency for any athlete or client to notice results or achieve goals. Successful athletes learn that it takes commitment and determination to achieve goals. A performance coach should help each athlete set goals and a plan towards achieving them. Qualified performance coaches should lay out a plan and help each athlete work diligently towards successfully achieving his/her goals.

Athletes who train and attack challenges with persistence and purpose attain the highest rates of success. We consistently commit and give 100% to everything we do, striving to become better each day.

HONOR: 

We believe that athletes need to build a solid reputation both inside of and outside of their competitive environment. Qualified performance coaches should study leadership and consider honor and integrity an integral part of keeping their reputation for helping to develop people in a variety of areas. We believe that all coaches, whether bound by a code of ethics within their organization or their certifying agency, should be held accountable to a professional standard of ethical behavior.

 We are proud of the respected reputation we have earned through our honest and caring approach to doing business and dealing with our athletes and clients.

We devote as much time to developing each individual athletically as we do to helping each individual become a positive contributing member of society.
